Sixty years of life is sixty years of people. The friends who showed up, the family who stayed, the neighbors who became family. Carla’s 60th felt like a thank-you to all of them, and we were so grateful to be part of it.

The longer I do this work, the more I believe that what really matters in life are the relationships we build over the years and the love of the people we meet along the way. A party like this is a chance to gather all of that love into one room. Happy 60th, Carla. Thank you for sharing your celebration with us.

A flower wall for the guest of honor

We built a lush pink rose flower wall as the backdrop for the night, with big marquee “60” letters glowing in front of it. It became the spot where Carla took photos with the people who mean the most to her, which is exactly what a backdrop is for.

Pink and red on black

On the tables, pink and red centerpieces sat on black linens. The dark linens made every bloom stand out and gave the room a rich, elegant feel that was still warm and joyful.

Ideas for a milestone birthday

Pick colors that feel like the person you are celebrating. Give them one beautiful place to stand for photos. Add their number or their name somewhere, in marquee letters or a neon sign. And leave room on the dance floor, because milestone birthdays almost always end with dancing.
