What we love about Skylands Manor
A granite mansion with old-world charm
The Tudor Revival architecture and granite walls give Skylands Manor such character. Rich textures look wonderful against the stone, like garden roses, ranunculus and lots of trailing greenery. I love arrangements that feel a little wild, as if they were gathered from the gardens outside.
Botanical gardens all around
The botanical gardens surrounding the manor are a gift to any florist. I like letting the season guide the palette, so your flowers feel connected to what's growing around you. Loose, airy shapes suit this setting more than tight, formal ones.
A chapel by Shepherd Lake and an orchard
The chapel overlooking Shepherd Lake is such a peaceful place to marry, and the orchard offers a lovely spot for portraits. In the chapel, I'd keep aisle flowers low and soft so the lake stays the star.
We have designed at Skylands Manor, and its gardens are a gift to work with. These photos from our weddings show the garden-style softness I love for a stone manor in the hills.

Designing your flowers at Skylands Manor
An organic floral arch, with flowers gathered on one side, suits the gardens beautifully. For the reception, low garden-style centerpieces with candles tucked between them feel warm and intimate against the stone. Bouquets with a gathered, just-picked feeling look so natural in the gardens, and you keep them after the day. Our luxury wedding flowers page shows the full range of what we create, from the first boutonniere to the last candle on the dance floor.
